October 3: Falling for Roller Skates!

It's time to fall for roller skating! Well, we are officially into the session of changing leaves, early sunsets, and pumpkin-spice everything, and there’s no better way to celebrate fall than by falling a few times while learning something awesome.

In fact, the very first thing you’ll learn at Raw Meat Roller Skating is how to fall safely, so that you can get up and keep on going. Come on join us this Saturday and practice your falls, as well as much, much more.

At Raw Meat, you’ll learn a variety of basic roller skating skills, including stops, falls, jumps, agility, pace lines, weaving, fancy footwork, and more. All of these skills will come in handy if you want to play roller derby one day, or if you just want to tackle the seawall in style.

Join us every Saturday all fall and winter at Thunderbird Community Centre (2311 Cassiar St.) from 5 to 7 PM. For just $7, you’ll get two hours of instruction in derby-style roller skating, and have more fun than you can shake your booty shorts at.

What’s that? You’d love to learn to skate, but you don’t have the gear? That’s easily solved! Rollergirl.ca now rents all the roller skating gear you need to give it a try. Visit the Rollergirl shop at 185 East 11th Avenue (at Main), and then head on over to Raw Meat–it’s just a short bus ride away along Broadway.

To skate at Raw Meat, you’ll need: roller skates, helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads and a mouth guard. Skates must have white or light, non-marking toe stops, and black knee pads need to be covered with vertical strips of white tape or felt.

Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating, we just have two rules: 1. Be safe. 2. Don’t be an asshat.

See you soon!
