Sign up for Meaty Session Testing!
Alright! It’s finally here! The Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating Meaty Sessions will be starting soon. On Saturday, April 20, we’ll conduct a big group test to assess the Meaty-ness of your skills. The testing will take place at Royal City Curling Club, 75 East 6th Avenue, New Westminster, from 10 AM to 12 PM. You must sign up to test! View the test here.
Starting April 27, Meaty sessions will run 10-12 at RCCC, and regular sessions (all levels welcome) will run from 12:30-2:30. These sessions will run on Saturdays all summer long. There will be no sessions at Thunderbird Community Centre over the summer. In late August, we will return to Thunderbird at our regular time.
Sessions at RCCC are $12. If you come for both sessions, it’s $18 for both. The higher price reflects the rental cost of RCCC. Prices may be adjusted through the summer to reflect attendance. In other words, we have to cover the costs of the rental, so get your friends to the rink, ok?

You must be signed up in order to test. If you can’t make it on the 20th, don’t panic! We’ll test again. Just hold on, and we’ll get you sorted after the 20th.
About Raw Meat Meaty Sessions
Raw Meat Meaty Sessions are advanced roller skating skills sessions for skaters who are ready to take it up a notch, current roller derby league skaters who can’t get enough time on wheels, and injured or retired skaters who love to skate, but may not want contact. Meaty sessions are a workout, but they continue to be non-contact.
There is a skills requirement to attend Meaty sessions. If you do not meet the requirement, you will not be allowed to skate in these sessions. View the test here.
All TCRG skaters and on-skate referees are welcome to skate with us. Skaters for other leagues who wish to come out must have passed a WFTDA basic skills test. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us (info@rawmeatvancouver.com) or come to a regular session and chat with a coach. Of course, everyone is always welcome at our regular sessions. Regular sessions will take place 12:30-2:30 every Saturday all summer at RCCC, starting on April 27.
Raw Meat Meaty Sessions will continue to cover roller skating basic skills, plus advanced agility and technique, as well as a range of roller derby skill and strategy drills. Raw Meat Advanced Sessions will run every Saturday all summer until late August from 10 to 12 at Royal City Curling Club (75 E. 6th Ave, New Westminster). Raw Meat Meaty Sessions are $12. If you have skated in a Meaty session, you are welcome to stay and skate at our regular session for an additional $6 (for at total of $18).
Our rules continue to be the same: 1. Be safe, 2. Don’t be an ass-hat. There is zero tolerance for breaking these rules.
Starting in late August, Raw Meat will resume skating from 5 to 7 every Saturday at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., Vancouver.
