April 11 is the last Raw Meat at Thunderbird until the Fall! April 18: RCCC!

Learn to roller skate in 2015 with Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating
Bye, bye, our old Thunderbird Gym
It’s so tiny when we’re skating but we’re leaving today
And the good ole floor with its dirt and decay
Singin’ I’ll see you ‘gain in the fall
I’ll see you ‘gain in the fall

That’s right, everybody, April 11 is our last day at Thunderbird Community Centre until the fall. So, join us from 5-7 PM for all the roller skating drills, thrills and spills you can stand.

Starting on April 18, we move to Royal City Curling Club at 75 East 6th Avenue in New Westminster, from 10 to Noon every Saturday all summer until August 22. Sessions at the curling club will be $12. I hope you can join us—the floor is beautiful to skate on, and it’s a much bigger space, so we are able to many more drills. You’re roller skating will improve dramatically, I promise.

Whether you join us this week at Thunderbird Community Centre, or next week at Royal City Curling Club, a few things won’t change. Our sessions are always open to all levels of roller skater, from complete beginner to seasoned derby veteran. Our sessions are drop-in. There’s no need to sign up in advance; just grab your gear and join us. Skaters are required to have roller skates; helmet; mouth guard; and wrist, elbow, and knee pads.

Raw Meat sessions are always non-contact, so it’s a safe place to learn to skate and practice your skills. You’ll learn all the basic skills you need to try out for a roller derby league in the fall, or just tackle the seawall with confidence.

Raw Meat has just two rules: 1. Be safe, 2. Don’t be an ass-hat.

I hope to see you Saturday!
