She thought she was just learning to skate, but what she really learned will blow your mind!
Or maybe not, if you think that learning to skating involves learning to stop, fall, skate around others, jump, maybe a few agility tricks, and so on. Anyway, I’m glad you are reading this, and happy family day weekend to you!
I hope you have a fabulous time bonding with your nearest and dearest. And, when you have just about had it up to here with them, be sure to sneak out and come join us at Raw Meat! Nothing burns off fam-dam-ily stress like a little aerobic exercise and fun on roller skates. We’ll be at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., from 5-7 PM on Saturday, February 8.
We’ll learn all sorts of roller skating skills: stops, falls, jumps, weaving, agility, skating as a group, and more. Everyone is welcome! If you are a new skater, we’ll get you going safely, and if you are amazing, well, we’ll probably ask you for tips.
What to bring:
You must have roller skates, and all safety gear: knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet, and mouth guard. The venue also requires everyone to use white or light-coloured, non-marking toe stoppers. If your knee pads are black, please cover them with white, non-marking hockey tape. Vertical strips of tape work best.
When & Where:
Sessions are $7, and take place every Saturday from 5-7 at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., Vancouver, very close to Rupert Skytrain Station. Sessions are drop-in. Just grab your gear and come join us!
And remember Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating has just two simple rules: 1. Be Safe, 2. Don’t be an asshat.
