Why: Because this session is da bomb!
That’s right. For one week only, for your coaching pleasure, Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating presents Coach Moneyball and Tikibomb. With this pair, we’ve got the beauty and the brains, plus Tiki!
Get ready to step up your game, and learn from the best.
Make sure to bring both a white and a black shirt. This session will feature some scrimmage drills, and all the booty blocking you can handle.
After we stop skating at noon, join us in the lobby for a 30 minute talk on derby stats from Coach Moneyball. There’s a reason she’s earned that nickname. No one knows more about derby stats than Moneyball. By the end of this session, you’ll know how many penalties your team can get and still have a hope of winning, and you’ll never walk away from a scrimmage without wanting to know your +/-. It’s all the derby geekery you could ask for, and more!
About Raw Meat Roller Skating Meaty Sessions
These are our advanced roller skating sessions. They will focus on advanced roller skating skills, endurance, and an introduction to roller derby rules and strategy. These sessions feature advanced skills, but continue to be non-contact.
A skills test is required to attend Meaty sessions. If you are a current league skater who has passed WFTDA basic skills (the old test), or an on-skates WFTDA referee, you are welcome to attend any time. Just drop in! If you would like to take the test, come to our 12:30 session and speak to a coach, or email info (at) rawmeatvancouver (dot) com.
These sessions are $12. If you attend a Meaty session and stay to skate at a Lamb session (12:30-2:30), it is $18 for both.
