One thing you need to know to be a better roller skater…

And that’s the time and location of Raw Meat Roller Skating, of course! Join us every Saturday at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., from 5 to 7 PM for two hours of roller skating, roller derby skills, and general awesomeness. Skaters of all level are welcome. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a member of Team Canada (Hi, guys! Come visit some time!), we’ll have some skating fun. Our next session is March 2, 2014. Come check it out!

Our sessions are geared towards roller skaters who want to play roller derby some day, but the stops, falls, jumps, agility, and other skills we learn are useful for anyone who wants to tackle the seawall with confidence, or dodge small children at Central City Arena. Come on down and check it out!

What to bring to Raw Meat Roller Skating:

You must have roller skates, and all safety gear: knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet, and mouth guard. The venue also requires everyone to use white or light-coloured, non-marking toe stoppers. If your knee pads are black, please cover them with white, non-marking hockey tape. Vertical strips of tape work best.

When & Where:

Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating Sessions are $7, and take place every Saturday from 5-7 at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., Vancouver. Thunderbird is very close to Rupert Skytrain Station.

Sessions are drop-in. Just grab your gear and come join us! All levels of roller skater are welcome, from beginner to advanced. We’ll teach you the basics of roller skating and roller derby (but all sessions are non-contact).

The Rules:

Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating has just two simple rules: 1. Be Safe, 2. Don’t be an asshat.
