It looks like the rain is returning to Vancouver, but don’t despair! Come roller skate indoors with us!
The next Raw Meat skate is Saturday, Sept. 25, 5 to 7 PM, at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St. Vancouver, for just $5. Join us for roller skating drills including stopping, agility, proximity skating, and endurance. Don’t worry if you don’t know what all those skills are–we will show you. Everyone is encouraged to skate at their own pace, and all levels of skill are welcome.
Raw Meat skates are strictly non-contact, but we do work on the skating skills that roller derby teams look for when they recruit, so if you are interested in derby, come skate with us!
After skating, joins us at WaaZuBee Cafe, 1622 Commercial Drive, for food, drinks, and socializing.
What to bring: Please bring comfortable workout clothing, a water bottle, your roller skates (quad skates) and full safety gear (helmet, mouth guard, wrist, elbow and knee pads). Please put your name on your helmet on a strip of tape so that we can get to know everyone.
See you Saturday!
