Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating May 24: Stop in the Name of Snow

Stop in the Name of Snow
Stop in the name of Snow
Before you hit the wall

Baby baby, I’m aware of where you go
Each time you don your skates
I watch you roll down the street
Knowing you’ll fall on your seat

But this time before you hit the wall
Leaving you alone and hurt

Stop in the name of love
Before you break your butt
Stop in the name of love
Before you break your butt

That’s right, everybody, this week we’re getting back to basics. Snow Crash will lead you through stops and falls, until you can stop on a dime. Knee falls, 4-point falls, snowplows, t-stops, you name it, you’ll be able to do it. Are you an advanced skater? Don’t worry. Snow has some drills for you, too. Stopping as a threesome, anyone?

Better stopping skills will help you whether your goal is to play on Team Canada Roller Derby or just to avoid the tourists on the seawall.

See you Saturday from 10 AM to Noon at Royal City Curling Club, 75 East 6th Avenue, in New Westminster.

What to bring to Raw Meat Roller Skating

All skaters must have roller skates, kneepads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guards and helmets. Sessions are $12, and exact change is appreciated.

Raw Meat Roller Skating Rules

1. Be safe. 2. Don’t be an asshat.

Our Schedule

Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating will meet all summer on Saturdays from 10 AM to Noon at Royal City Curling Club, EXCEPT for June 7. There is no session on June 7. Other wise, we’ll see you a RCCC every Saturday until August 30. In September, we will return to Thunderbird Community Centre.

Join us on Saturdays all summer to learn the basic (and not so basic) skills you’ll need to play roller derby or just roller skate like a boss.
