Raw Meat Roller Skating Meat Session Aug. 24: Oh! The Places You’ll Go!

Where: Royal City Curling Club, 75 East 6th Avenue, New Westminster
What: 2 hours of advanced roller skating skills, spills and one or two frills
Who: Skaters must have passed the Raw Meat skills test or be a current derby league skater to attend this session.
How Much: $12
Why: Because it’s awesome!

“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”

This week, you better hold on to your cats in their hats because Green Megs and Ham is going to take you (and you, and you, and maybe a Who or two, too) on a journey inside, outside and upside down! You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

So sleulth out your best Seuss wear, grab your skates and best mates, and we’ll see you there!

Reminder! Schedule Change Coming Up!

This is our second to last session at Royal City Curling Club for 2013! We’re back at RCCC on Aug. 31, then there is no session on Sept. 7. On Sept. 14, we start back at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St., from 5 to 7 every Saturday all fall and winter. Note that there is only one session per week through the fall and winter, and all levels of skater are welcome. In spring 2014, we’ll return to RCCC, dates to be confirmed.

About Raw Meat Roller Skating Meaty Sessions

These are our advanced roller skating sessions. They will focus on advanced roller skating skills, endurance, and an introduction to roller derby rules and strategy. These sessions feature advanced skills, but continue to be non-contact.

A skills test is required to attend Meaty sessions. If you are a current league skater who has passed WFTDA basic skills (the old test), or an on-skates WFTDA referee, you are welcome to attend any time. Just drop in! If you would like to take the test, come to our 12:30 session and speak to a coach, or email info (at) rawmeatvancouver (dot) com.

These sessions are $12. If you attend a Meaty session and stay to skate at a Lamb session (12:30-2:30), it is $18 for both.
