Raw Meat Roller Skating March 8: Punchy’s Gonna Knock You Out

Don’t call it a comeback
She’s been here for years
Rockin her peers and puttin suckas in fear
Makin the tears rain down like a mon soon
Listen to the bass go boom
Explosion overpowerin
Over the competition she’s towerin
Wreckin shop when she drops that booty that’ll make you call the cops
Don’t you dare stare, you betta move
Don’t ever compare
Her to the rest that’ll all get sliced and diced
Competition’s payin the price

She’s gonna knock you out
Punchy said knock you out

That’s right, one of the very first Raw Meaties is coming back this week to kick ass and chew bubble gum. Wait…uh oh. It seems she’s all out of gum.

Puncheon Meat was one of the first attendees at Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating in the summer of 2010. In fact, it was Punchy who came up with name “Raw Meat”. Since then, she’s gained some impressive roller skating skills, becoming an authority figure with the TCRG, and a TCRG Faster Pussycat.

This Saturday, she’ll share her knockout moves. Don’t miss it! Join us from 5-7 on Saturday, March 5 at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St.

Are you a beginning roller skater? Never fear! Punchy is one of the world’s good people. She’ll get you on the right track in no time.

What you’ll learn at Raw Meat Roller Skating

At Raw Meat, we teach roller skating, roller derby style. Whether you have ambitions to skate in the world cup of roller derby, or you just want to hold your own against the tourists on the seawall this summer, we can teach you the roller skating skills you need to know. Each session features a variety of roller skating skills and roller derby drills, including: stops, falls, agility, jumping, weaving, skating in pace line, skating in a pack, positional blocking, and more.

All Raw Meat sessions are non-contact, so you can get a taste of derby without the hits.

All levels of roller skater are welcome, from beginner to expert.

What to bring to Raw Meat Roller Skating

All skaters must have roller skates (quad skates), helmet, mouth guard, and wrist, elbow and knee pads, no exceptions. The venue requires all toe stops be white or light, and all black knee and elbow pads to be covered in white or light coloured tape. This is to prevent black marks on the floor.

Sessions are $7. Exact change is appreciated.

The Rules of Raw Meat Roller Skating

We only have two rules: 1. Be safe. 2. Don’t be an ass-hat.

There is zero tolerance for breaking these rules.
