Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating

No Raw Meat April 21; Come to the TCRG’s ThunderCats Bout Instead!

There will be no Raw Meat session on April 21. Instead, come to Minoru Arena in Richmond to watch the TCRG’s ThunderCats claw it out for victory (ThunderCats = Bad Reputations vs. Faster Pussycats). This is a low-production bout, which means all the derby, none of the frills. It’s a $10 minimum donation at the door; doors at 5, whistle at 6.

Raw Meat homework: Identify one defensive and one offensive strategy employed by each team. You can even spot the strategies in early in the game, and make a drinking game out of it!

If the weather is good, we might try to meet up for a nice outdoor skate before the bout, so check this page for updates.

Next week: New time, venue and pricing begins!

Starting April 28, Raw Meat Vancouver Roller Skating will move to a new time, venue and price. There will be an advanced session (skills testing required) from 10 to noon, and our regular, everyone-welcome Raw Meat from 12:30 to 2:30 at the Royal City Curling Club, 75 East Sixth Avenue, New Westminster. See last’s week’s invite for more details on the two sessions. These two sessions will run every Saturday all summer (except May 26) until August 4.

On August 11, Raw Meat returns to Thunderbird Community Centre.

If you would like to be tested for the advanced session on April 28, please sign up on this form.

If you are a current, active derby skater with the TCRG or another league, you are welcome to drop in to our advanced session. If you have any questions about whether this session is appropriate for you, contact us at info@rawmeatvancouver.com, or come to our regular session and chat. As always, our regular session is open to skaters of all levels, from beginner to ZOMG She’s Amazing!

I’ll see you at Minoru on the 21st, and Royal City Curling Club on the 28th!
